New Year, New You, New Dog Too?

Another year has gone by and the dial of time has done one more full circle. It always makes me take a step back and try to evaluate the changes that need to be made. I don't ever want to become complacent with the way things are because there is always room for improvement and I want to be the best version of myself and always strive to do better. Be better. Eat better. Stop to smell the roses along the way. These are the things I find to weigh the heaviest in the balance of health. I've evaluated all areas in my life and have tried to improve upon those foundations. The holidays always tempt me with there delicate desserts and casseroles filled to the brim with extra savory fats that please me. Indulgence at it's finest! I've probably put on an extra layer of warmth for the winter. Unfortunately this happens about every year.

I say all this because in all this evaluation my mind started to shift to the ones that I help care for as well. This includes my parents a couple houses down the street, my three amazing kiddos that are moving into the teenage phase of life and also my sweet furry children as well. We have three dogs in house and one cat. It took me so many years to truly understand how diet and exercise play such a heavy roll in your wellbeing. I try to make the choices that are all around good for the family. Now we have been feeding our dogs PawTree for years but we really veer from it sometimes when it comes to treats. One of my main goals this new year is to make sure are pets are getting just as good of care and healthy options as I would try to provide to the rest of the family. I know PawTree is such a healthy food but I'm going to focus more on making sure their snacks are as good a choice. With Penny being pregnant and expecting a new litter soon I really want to make sure they are all getting the best. Arowyn will be ready for her first litter soon as well. And let's admit that proper health starts in the womb. We walk our dogs daily and try to get them to the dog park when ever possible. I do plan on adding in more off leash hikes. I've found that submerging into nature for awhile can do wonders to the soul and really allows the dogs to drop into their instincts with tracking scents. I know that what I do is not necessarily what would work for you. I challenge you to try and look at the things that can be tweaked in your life and try to up your game as well. All of us at Robyn's Nest hope all the health and happiness that you deserve in the new year! That's what new years resolutions are is an intention set for a better you. And the you includes the ones you love.

For the love of the Puppy!

Nurture VS Nature is always a heavy weighted argument. Yes, this argument is usually debated regarding humans but isn't it an argument...
